In a business setting, bathrooms aren’t used the same way as they are in residential buildings. As you probably are aware, people aren’t as concerned with what they flush down the toilet in a business as they are in their own home. This can lead to some serious problems when items get stuck and cause clogs.

And when it comes to clogs, there are few things worse than clogs in your main sewage line. The problem with these is that they often can go undetected for a long period of time and then catastrophic backup of sewage happens.

One way in which plumbers deal with these is by opening out the sewer cleanout and catching the clog from there. You will usually be able to spot these near a bathroom on the ground floor. It is good to be aware of where it is located if a plumber needs access to it quickly. You should keep the area around it clear and cut back bushes that might make it tricky to get to the pipe. It could prove invaluable in the future.
